A Journey to the Depths: The Founder's Personal Account

John Joslyn, Founder of the Titanic Museum Attractions in Branson, MO and Pigeon Forge, TN.

Imagine hovering over 2.5 miles above the legendary Titanic, a silent giant resting in the abyss. In 1987, this became a reality for John Joslyn. Two years after the Titanic's discovery, he co-led a groundbreaking $6 million expedition to the wreck site, driven by a desire to witness its remains and recover artifacts.

For 44 days at sea, their team embarked on 32 daring dives in a state-of-the-art $20 million submersible. The result? Hundreds of hours of haunting, ghost-like images, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the Titanic's final resting place. These visuals formed the foundation of "Return to Titanic...Live!", a landmark television special co-produced by Joslyn that captivated millions.

A Lifelong Connection

More than three decades later, the Titanic remains John Joslyn's profound passion. His career has been dedicated to honoring the 2,208 souls aboard its fateful maiden voyage. This dedication materialized into the Titanic Museum Attractions in Branson and Pigeon Forge, permanent tributes housing one of the world's largest collections of Titanic artifacts.

"I wanted to share as closely as possible with guests what Titanic’s actual passengers and crew experienced aboard ship," says Joslyn. This vision led to the creation of immersive exhibits where visitors can touch, feel, and hear the stories of those who were there. From the meticulously recreated Grand Staircase to the chilling touch of an iceberg, the museums offer a powerful and personal connection to history.

For John Joslyn, the journey to the Titanic's depths was just the beginning of a lifelong commitment to preserving its legacy and ensuring that the stories of those on board continue to be told.
